Test Management shares many aspects with Project Management, in our view however, there are as many differences:
- The test activities are part of the Project Plan, but:
- in many cases, are at the end of the project
- are considered so flexible, that any delay in the project could be eliminated during testing without suffering loss of quality
.
- During this phase, the organization "feels" the product first time,
- which results in changes
- whilst resources (f.i. key-users) already have been allocated to other tasks.
- All issues found, have a duality;
- Hurrah !, we we found the error NOW
- Bad luck for planning, this means, time needed for:
- Administration of the issue
- Retest time needed, once the issue has been solved
- Administrative time at retesting, even more if the retest fails
When setting up a test project, simplicity and repeatability of the process are our main objectives. The use of test metric the is of great benefit.
Our test managers could be employed:
- Executive, full-time and Part-time
- As coach
- As Trainer
We would be happy to show you, how proper test management will avoid nasty discussions about software quality, at the final stage of a project.
